March 11, 2013 Hey mom. ALASKA! no I didn´t scroll all the way down. Good things come to those who wait. But that is wayyyyy LOCO! I know 4 alaskans. Matt Caison´s wife Athena, Elder Summers, and his girlfriend who´s mom is Argentina (thats how I met them... I think I already told this story...) and his girlfriend´s sister. And thats it. But when I was at BYU, I watched a lot of discovery channel axmen and deepest catch or something like that. That is about all I know about Alaska, and definitely the extent of my experience. But that is wonderful! I cannot wait to come and visit in ALASKA! also, where exactly, and when does he go? Birthday... sweet. I will probably just save the money on my card and buy somethin cool my last pday. That sounds like some exciting weather in NYC. I have been really hankerin for some cold. It totally juked me out. Its hot here again and I am currently sweating a good bit. That is SO cool about our ward doing stuff with family history. I love it now and I can´t wait to go to the temple because we actually have names in pretty recent history who don´t have their work done! I am excited because I totally thought someone else would have done it back to before the flood but no. Lets see. Viktor is doing well. He is still really excited about the baptism this weekend and so are we. We did service with him (or better said, my comp and the other elder Daybell did service for him because I was with elder Huaman in San Martin on comp exchanges) and he was pretty stoked for it. I have been reading the Book of Mormon a lot lately and its been really interesting to see how much the prophets and missionaries of ancient times tried to help people understand their divine nature. I think its because like Joseph Smith said, its pretty much impossible to exercise faith in someone you don´t know or don´t understand. Can you imagine how we would be different as people if we all understood the plan of happiness that the Lord prepared for us? Knowing that God exists is something that is necessary in order to have faith in Him. But it isn´t everything. You need to know what kind of a God He is, and what is His nature exactly. The scriptures tell us these things because of the many dealings that the Lord has had with His prophets. Okay, so we know that He is, and we pretty much know or understand who He is. The next thing we need to be able to have an abiding faith is an assurance that the life we are living is pleasing unto God. I know that God is our Heavenly Father. We are His Children and He knows who I am and what my fears desires, hopes and dreams are. He knows who I was, who I am, and who I can be. It is the same for everyone of His children. A whole new world is opened up to us when we understand really who we are. I invite any and all of you to think about who you are really and what that means for you. If you do it, you will be led to the truth I promise. Anyways, I am doing good. Very good. Keep prayin for us porfa. Love ya a ton Elder Daybell
