January 14, 2013 Hey Family! This week was really pretty great. We don´t have a 555 program yet in our branch, and so that is my biggest priority. I mean after all, if you didn´t follow Noah back in the days before the flood, you had some pretty big problems. I figure its not different now; If the prophet wants us to use this plan, we will use it and be safer and happier and more successful than by not using it. So that is what we have been up to. The branch President has been out of town since before I got here, and I met him for the first time on Sunday. Seems like a great guy and I am excited to work with him. We have spent most of the week going by all the members that live in our area that my companion doesn´t know ( in other words all the inactive members). It was honestly incredible how many members we met that wanted nothing to do with the church, or how many we had met that like Lot´s wife had turn back around. They were currently (not even practicing) catholics, evangelicals, and even athiest... We had like three days just like that and its been hot and we hadn´t gotten in to even one of the inactive member´s houses. The only benefit to it was that we were able to recieve a lot of referrals for other families. And then we hit gold one day. We had decided to look at all the old investigators in our area book and made a list of all the ones we felt like we should pass by. But first we had to finish up our list of less active members, so we went back in to what felt like Ammonihah and knocked some more doors. To our great relief and gratitude, we found some great members that had fallen away, but wanted to come back with thier friends and family. That is exactly 555! We were way happy and felt like God had directed us to these particular houses just so we could have a good day haha. So now we have plenty of work and we are excited about that. Another cool story... Yesterday we went to the house of a member who is extremely inactive but was a missionary and served honorably and was once married and got divorced and then came back to Rivadavia (where he served the mission 13 years ago) and is now living with one of his former investigators and they have a few children. Well he came to church LAST week, and we made friends and got him excited to bring his family with him yesterday, and they all came! They loved church and since the woman was already an investigator a long time ago, and had a pretty extensive knowledge of things, we talked a little bit and they have a goal of a temple marriage. So obviously her and one of her children (the oldest, with 8 years) are absolutely stoked to get baptized. This would probably happen in february or later because there are some other trials to take care of with the government and so on... But we are really excited for them. Its been great to meet some of the lost sheep who are coming back to the fold. I am happy for the members that have been faithful for years, but I am more happy about seeing some former diners at the Lord´s table come back. Anyway, I am doing good. Hot! so HOT! I smell like a wet dog all the time now because all my shirts were washed by a Sister in my last ward and she has several big dogs that get into everything, so naturally all my shirts have a little scent of dog. But then I walk outside in the 90, 100-ish degree heat and I start to sweat a ton and then it starts to stink! Its been a challenging week with my clothing hahaha. Okay love you guys. Taker easy eh?
