May 6, 2013 Hey family! This week was pretty saweeet. Well kind of. It was really hard because Elder Crawford was finishing his mission and did so well, but he had to pack really well and take care of some things, and then we had to plan for a few meetings that we were going to be conducting by the end of the week. So not a lot of time to go out and work in the streets and in the homes and in the sinagogs. Hmmm Anyway, my next comp, the asesino... is Elder Bills. He is from Idaho, and is from the same group as Elder Dowdle, Steeves and Larsen. I can´t escape their generation! Which is great because they are all great missionaries, and I am excited to work with him. He gets here on Wednesday. Til then, I will be bouncing around the zone, playing district leader for the Elder Ortega that goes home today also. Well... Not a whole lot to report. I am ready to talk to you guys next Sunday. Skype at... some hour. Just have it on like the whole day? puede ser? I am working this out now so we don´t have to come back to ciber to fix a schedule... but probably sometime after 6:00 pm my time. Can´t wait to see you guys. hmmmm I don´t think there is a ton to say...I am ready for an awesome transfer with Elder Bills. Love you guys. Hasta el dia de la mom Elder Daybell
April 29, 2013 Elder Daybell, called to be a missionary of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and our brother Elder Crawford, unto the family which is at the United States of America, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ. Howest art thou? Haha Okay. So as you can tell. I have been tearing apart the New testament recently. I finished Acts and then dove right into the pauline epistles (chronologically) and am now in Corintios. Love it! So this week we have been focusing a lot on working with the ward. We have a lot of great goals and a pretty clear plan of action to complete them. So I am excited. The week was really good. We met a really cool guy the other day! He lived in Long Island... So we were looking for a bus stop after having done an interview and my comp asked this guy who was just outside on the street corner smoking. He answered in english and I was like "no way you speak English?!?!" and he said yes, and explained that he lived in New Shork (York) for 13 years and had his family and everything there. I asked him why he was here and he told us that he came back to visit his mom who was sick, and how one day out of the blue someone did a driveby and he got shot 3 times in the "baht". So he had been here for about a year without seeing his family (tell me about it) and so we talked a little bit and I didn´t just stumble over my words in english, but full-on fell over like every other word haha. Anyways, we had a mutual understanding about our lack of english skills and then we coincided that the missionaries in that area would go visit him in his house, and then the bus came and I yelled to him that I would go visit him in New York sometime because he is going back as soon as he can. It would be sweet to go visit them and say, "hey! I was with Roman in Mendoza! He says hi!" I think that is the New York North mission right? I don´t know. Anyways, we are doing well. Elder Crawford is doing well and finishin the mission very well. Very focused and you wouldn´t even know that he is going in a week. Although, his body seems to be rejecting argentine food and drink recently haha. He has had tummy pain for basically the last three weeks. Me too a little bit but, hey que va a hacer no cierto??? Anyways, I hope you guys are doing well. I am loving it. Love you guys a ton. The salutation of me Elder Daybell with mine own hand. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. My love be with you all in Christ Jesus.Amen
April 23, 2013 Hey family! This week was pretty awesome. I didn´t write yesterday because we had our conference with Elder Zwick from the First Qurum of the Seventy. It was pretty awesome... Oh but I did something SO stupid! At the beginning, he wanted to shake all of our hands, and so we got in the line and it was like a quick, hand shake, nice to meet you kind of thing.... very much so wedding reception style, but way quicker and a little bit more nerve racking haha. Anyways, I get up there and shake his hand and he holds on to mine (oh nooo) and says, "Elder Daybell, where are you from?" and without thinking I say "New York" "Oh hey! what stake?" "..... (blank stare)" "in the city? "yes" " Manhattan stake?" "...mhmm (no idea)" "Oh President Buckner! I love that man!" " Uh huh..." He noticed my confused look and then said, "oh you must have come directly from byu or somethin like that huh..." "yep!" And that was that. I am glad that the Seventy with the most time in that qourum thinks that I am a few crayons short of a full pack haha. The thing is, I got impatient with telling people that I am from utah, but we moved to virginia and then I will live in New York after the mission. So I have just started to tell people that ask that I am a New Yorker haha. But that was the first time I had met anyone in my whole mission that knows anything more about NY than I do haha. I later learned in the introduction that Elder Zwick was in the American Northeast Area Presidency at one point haha. Dang...besides that, I have not put my foot in my mouth any other time recently. In fact it was quite the opposite. I had to give 2 talks in church last sunday because we have two branches in our area and it was interesting. In one I talked about waiting eagerly on the Lord, and the other one was a Plan of Salvation talk. It was good and I felt like my message mostly arrived to the members over the shrieking children and snoring ancianos haha. We have seen some serious help here in the zone. Lots of people are going to get baptized next month and I am excited to do some interviews and have some done in my area. In our conference we talked a lot of establishing zion. We have been called more to do that than anything else. I am starting to understand that a little more because really its so much more important than going to any area and baptizing a hundred nine year old kids (happens a lot here) alone because their parents aren´t going to get married and so they can´t be baptized. That is why we focus on trying to teach complete families, or people who are going to be supported in their new religion. Anyone can establish Zion though. To start, you should start with establishing yourself. There are tons of ways to do that, but I feel like a testimony of the Book of Mormon is one of the best ways to start. Than you can really help extend the stakes and contribute in a worthwhile way to the work of God. Anyway, I heard about the Boston thing a little bit. Nothing besides a bomb though. I hope everyone is okay though. I love you guys. Have yourself a merry like week. Elder Daybell
April 15, 2013 Hey fam! This week was really awesome! We set a really high goal for baptisms this month (16.... all of you serving or who have served in Mexico can now do the nelson "ha-ha") and we had names ready for almost half of them. Like we all had at least one or two people who could be baptized this month, and so we put our faith to the test and agreed that we would find families. So we worked way hard this week to find some really awesome, ready families and almost every area found one! the only problem is no all of them came to church, so baptism is pretty much out of the question for a few of them for this month. May is going to be a great month though. There were also some miracles like... a few fathers from part member families randomly told the elders that they wanted to get baptized now haha!!! SO loco! I love it. Elder Crawford and I have been all over the place this week interviewing and doing companion exchanges. We are 9 companionships, and so its a really big zone. We have ALL of the city of Mendoza, and all of Las Heras and some other little parts. We also have the temple plot in MY area! We are going to go see it some p-day soon. I am way stoked to see it. Anyways, I was reading a lot from the Book of Mormon this week and got through the missions of Ammon and Aaron and Alma. I love Alma 26.. I think its one of my favorite chapters. It talks about the pure joy of the missionaries that were used in the Lord´s hands to bring sinners to repentance and into the loving embrace of the Lord. I feel the same about the people that I have been able to meet here. I haven´t baptized the whole state of Mendoza or anything, but the people the Lord sent us to are some excellent saints that gave up all thier sins to know the Lord. They are and were willing to give up material possessions in order to follow the Lord and I can not be more pleased and full of happiness for my association with them. So the work continues, and lives are changed. Miracles are the natural result of the application of true eternal principles. Be faithful. Love you guys. Elder Pequeño (thats my new name in this branch.... it means tiny or small)
April 15, 2013 Hey Mom! I kinda just want to write you because you are so loyal to writing every week and then I send back a big mass message. So my family letter will be a little shorter.... this is for you! I am doing really good. I really like my area and my comp. For the most part, there are people and families to baptize here and I am confident that we will do that in the next coming weeks. I had a pretty fun interview the other day. I had to give a baptismal interview to a 78 year old man named Jorge and tell you hhwwwhat, (accent on the "h" sound in what), Satan did not want this guy baptized! most interruptions to an interview ever! phone calls, surprise visits from family and other, etc... anyways, I did the interview in 2 parts and basically kicked out one of his buddies so that I could finish the interview so he could be baptized yesterday. Anyways, one of the interview questions has to do with crimes. Like if they every committed a crime of any kind and if they are on probation or in trial for anything else right now.... I asked him and he thought about it and first said that the only crime he committed was divorcing his wife..... sad. And then the second crime came out. It was so funny and just so old-man-like. He got quiet and looked into space and said...."when I was about 7 years old, my mother asked me to change a light bulb and so I got a latter and went to work. When I looked down, I saw that there was 15 cents on the window sill and thinking that someone else had abandoned them, I took them and went out and had a feast of candy. Then that night, my mother asked father if he had taken the 15 cents (15 cents would buy you a kilo of sugar back in MY day!) then I realized that I had taked them... I told them and papá helped me to learn that robbing is very bad. Since then I haven´t taken anything that isn´t mine." I chuckled and then we finished the interview. He got baptized on Sunday. I really like being a Zone leader because I get to interview a ton of people to get baptized and I have heard some things you know? But it has been really good. I don´t necessarily have as much time to work in my area anymore, but I am glad to help other elders have success. I like training missionaries, so that's why I want to work in the MTC. can we go to the temple when I get back in the Manhattan temple? like while I am still a missionary? Also, I hope you guys aren´t planning any big meal or anything because I would love to just go home and eat a meal of delicious fuity pebbles.... like 2 or 3 boxes? Puede ser che? Anyways, enough about those things. My comp is going home in 3 weeks and he is still working really well and being a good missionary. I appreciate that because sometimes missions are ended kind of crashed and burned. But mine won´t be like that. Anyways mom, I love you a ton and I am so thankful for your letters and constance-ness? for being constant haha. English is definitely not my first language anymore haha. The sad thing is neither is Spanish haha. Well Love you a ton and I will write ya next week. Elder Daybell

April 8, 2013 Hey family! Wow conference was way good huh? I loved it. I think that the talks were wonderful. How they focused on the family so much, and how to teach and learn by the Spirit. I think that it is really great that we are kind of throwing some of the manuals out the window and learning together how to really teach by the Spirit and learn by faith. I was really thankful for the words spoken especially by Sister Wixom. I think the rising generations are so important. How Elder Falabella (sp?) talked about how the physical abuse is kind of on the downfall, but there is still a lot of emotional abuse... I think the principles taught in both talks will help us to really help raise the new generation and prepare them to really teach and testify about the love of God because they will have already experienced it bounteously. Not sure I spelled that right. Abundantemente. There we go. I also really like the incredible examples of the brothers and sisters who were able to do amazing things soley because they were living the Gospel. Like the two brothers that went to a different country to do their home teaching, and about the man who saved his tithing money for years hoping for a chance to comply with the Lord´s commandments. I liked the story about the young priest and the young deacon who did their callings. And felt the power of doing their calling. I liked it all. I took a myriad (that is a big word that just popped into my head. Thank you Ms. Otey) of notes and I am excited to read the messages again. But I think the best part of my week was something that happened on Monday, right after I wrote you guys. I got a letter from Lourdes Gutierrez (remember her? from when I was in Maipu about 6 months ago) Well she is doing wonderfully. She sent me a nice long letter that was really honestly the best news that I have heard in a long time. Her son Juan Pablo got baptized! She told me that a little while ago, her daughter (who has some mental health issues) reacted violently when she stopped taking her medication and ended up beating her mom up a little bit. Well, in her moment of sadness and feeling helpless, but not hopeless, her son, Juan Pablo took her under his arm and said, "ma, lets read the Book of Mormon like William said to do whenever we are sad." Lourdes told me that they sat down and just read from the Book and felt the peace it brings. She then said that a few days before her birthday (a little bit after this event) that Juan Pablo came to her and told her that hehad decided to be baptized. He decided a while ago, but wanted to tell her closer to her birthday. So he was baptized by one of the Elders that was in Rodeo, in February. The other bit of good news that she told me is that Graciela, one of the investigators Elder Larsen and I found got baptized in February also, on the same day as Juan Pablo. I am so happy. I am so glad that people that we started teaching have ended up being baptized. I amglad the Lord is patient also. So that is my week. We had a really great one. before the Priesthood session, we went to the President´s house and ate dinner. It was awesome, Elder Crawford and I made about 15 pizzas with Hermana Avila and one of her daughters, and President kept coming in the kitchen and helping his wife or making a joke or whatever. I have really enjoyed observing a good family like that one elder that someone talked about in conference, but I will not ask to come and observe more at the end of my mission only because I have already observed many good families, including our own. I sure love you guys. Elder Daybell
April Fools Day, 2013 Hey famsauce This week was pretty good. Oh I just remembered. I was going to tell you that my first day here in Mendoza zone (I am actually in a place called las Heras...) was really stinky, smelly, sewagey and overall a foul experience. I am not one for mucho negativo but la verdad, it was like that. Here is why. We got to our apartment in Las Heras and I started to get out the things that for sure had to be unpacked like my almost 70 ties for example and my books so that I didn´t have to waste any time the next day or that night unpacking instead of feasting on the good word... So I did a little unpacking, and then we decided to head out to go meet some investigators and members. First of all, this area has the most part member families I have ever seen. Where everyone is a member except for the dad (there is even one case where the whole family is baptized except for the parents, but only the dad doesn´t know that all the kids are actually baptized in the church... So thats kind of uncomfortable.. I met him the other day and I kind of felt bad that he thinks we keep coming to his house because we are buddies, and not because we teach the recent converts and secretly want to get him baptized too... ) anyways.... We were about to leave and I realized I couldn´t find my funda anywhere (funda is scripture case). I tore apart the recently clean and pretty much empty apartment because the funda had MY spanish scriptures. They are MAR-CADAS. And now I don´t have even english scriptures so I was really worried for a little bit. Well... I decided that I left them on top of the taxi that took us to the pench (like all those tragic times when you get in your car and realize that you left your big gulp on top as you peel out of the 7-11? I know at least mom knows what I mean:). So I decided that I was just going to pray, ask for a miracle, and take out a backup funda that Elder Crawford had, with some give away copies of the Book of Mormon. I promised in the prayer that if God somehow got my funda back to me, I would redouble my study efforts and cut back on just reading, and I also asked that through this miracle someone would come to know the church. Okay. So we leave the pench. We do some things, and I am not really worried about this funda thing because I am just really really confident that the Lord is going to bless me with some great news. We go to a service project. The hermano wanted to fix some plumbing, that entailed digging in the rocky, hard Mendoza soil (all of the "tierra virgen" is used in the vineyards and fields...). So we dug and broke rock for a while until we hit a big nasty problem. Apparently the pipe we are fixing is the pipe that leads from the "throne" of several nearby houses.... At least thats what it smelled like, and that what the hermano and us came to conclude... Not positive yet... But for one reason or another, we ended up having to reach our hands down a perpindicular pipe to "unclog" (ewwwwwww) it so we could do something else. I know, not really clear because I didn´t really get the point of what we were doing anyways... so my comp was busy digging in another part of the trench we digged....dugged. daged? and so the hermano and I played catchipu (rock paper scissors) and I beat him 5 to 0. So up went his sleeve and and in went his arm. That was some foulness of such evil that I have never smelt before.... Well the hermano is a larger guy, who enjoys his alfajors and mate, and unfortunately his arm did not reach to the point of the clog. So this guy (pointing to myself) rolled up his sleeve and shoved his flaquito arm deep into the abyss. Mission accomplished. The clog luckily was a little plastic flower plant.... No idea what that was doing deep in the plumbing but whatever. I washed my whole arm with what was available... paint thinner, a antigrease detergent, dish soap, and finally a nice bar of soap. Since the smell had not totally faded away, the hermano sprayed some of his wife´s perfume all over my arm and it was a done deal. At least I was overpowering everyone with a smell like Augest Lavender instead of... well you know. So that was the terribly smelly part, but I actually really enjoyed myself. Still no funda. The next morning, we started studying and luckily I had my paperback Book of Mormon so as I was finishing Alma 19, we got a call and the Hermano who called us asked my comp how Elder Daybell is doing. Which was wierd because I hadn´t met him yet.. so watch this. He was inside the chapel watering the plants there and some young married couple came to the church and knocked after they realized that the title of the church written on my scriptures that they found scattered in the street matched the one on the big plaque right in front of the chapel. OH YEAAA!!!!! Miracles do happen ladies and gentlemen. Unfortunately we don´t know anything about the married couple, but they should live in our area. I will be on the look out. Other cool stuff happened. Elder Steeves is one of our district leaders and he is also the most experienced and the other two are newbies, so we are WAY excited. Our zone has set a super high, but faith filled goal of baptisms this month. We are going to help Elder Crawford finish well:) Well, I am good. I love you guys. I haven´t heard anything about a release date. But in my temple recommend interview President said that the 19th I would be in the Buenos Aires temple. So I haven´t recieved any date besides that. If you want you can email or call the mission. I don´t know the phone number... but for sure you could find it on the website of the mission or something like that. Love you guys. Have a way great week. Elder Daybell
March 25, 2013 Hey everyone! Guess what! Transfers have come and gone yet one more time. I am off! I totally called it! I am going to Mendoza Zone. Right in centro! I am so stoked! I can´t wait to get a bunch of harsh mendocino rejections in the streets hahah. I am kidding, but the people are a lot more rushed in the city. They are more porteño in the city than everywhere else. My area is called Cementista, and I will have to branches to go to. The first is Cementista, and the other one is called Boulougne Sur Mer. I am excited because the city always has the coolest open the mouths and crazy stories. It truly is the ideal place to finish the mission (which I will most surely do because Elder Crawford my new comp is dying this transfer and then the next transfer... well... you know...) especially because I have never been to the other two provinces. I will have truly served a Mendoza mission. Excellent. This always happens haha.. The last day of the transfer we find some super golden families to teach. But I am happy because this isn´t my work... The Lord is just letting us get our feet wet in HIS work. Anyway.... We went to contact a referral that we got at the baptism of Victor (he´s doin great btw). They are actually Damian, Vic´s son, and his girlfriend, Mariana. They both came to the baptism... Like they asked to get off work to come to the church and watch the baptism. So already they are committed to learning something new. Well yesterday in the nightime we went to visit them, becuase we basically didn´t have anything else to do. What an inspired thought, to go visit them. We knocked on the door and Mariana came to the door and after some small talk and a HUGE smile on her face she let us in and we talked to them a little bit. She said that she felt so wonderful in the Baptism of Victor, and saw a huge change in him. She talked about how she wanted to get closer to God and then the light went off in my head. She said the keywords! So we whipped out the Book of Mormon and we explained it a little bit, and we read how living the principles taught in this book would get us closer to God than by any other book etc. It was SO awesome! I am SO confident in the Book of Mormon and it´s power. In the title page it talks about how one of the purposes of the book is to CONVINCE us that Jesus is the Christ. It is so true. Once someone has the Book of Mormon in their hands and they begin to read, OLVIDATE CHE! I have been really amazed how its like a 100% effective tool in the conversion. Every single one of the people that I have seen converted has read the Book of Mormon and become convinced of its truthfulness. Every single one of the people who I have seen become unconverted or were baptized and then fell away never read the Book of Mormon... Its a simple equation. It gives us power. Anyways... I am stoked because we just had a super spiritual lesson with them and Mariana said she can´t wait to read it and have us explain more to her. She is GOLDEN! But I am excited to go work in Mendoza. I am excited to flood that place with Elder Crawford with the Book of Mormon. Its true It feels good Love you guys. Elder Daybell
March 18, 2013 Hey Family! This week was pretty miraculous. La verdad che, si... We started out the week a little worried that Victor was smoking... So the first time we could we taught the word of wisdom. It was amazing because we talked about the 5 things that we have been commanded not to consume, and when I said tobaco, he kind of grunted and said something equivalent to "well dang!" haha... Having confirmed our thoughts, we talked about that a little bit. He didn´t have any problem with anything else. He started smoking when he was 8 years old...55 years ago! So we talked about how in order to be baptized on the 16th, he would have to stop pretty quick. He was sad because he had been smoking on average about 2 packs a day for 55 years and was confronted probably with the hardest thing he had to do ever, in a very short period of time. But, his desire to follow the Lord and be baptized was greater than his desire to smoke. We gave him a blessing that he could stop, and that he would lose his desire to smoke. The next morning we called him and he had smoked twice since the lesson. But he had also read 10 chapters from 1st Nephi and had said that he doesn´t have the ganas to smoke anymore.... (ganas is like the desire). We went and talked to him and to see how he was doing on Wednesday night, and he hadn´t smoked anymore... Thursday morning, he had smoked two. But he said he only did it because he still had them and it was a part of the regular schedule. So we talked to him about the requirements of baptism, and how if he was smoking it wouldn´t really be demonstrating his repentance. We also shared the story of the Lamanites who burried their weapons of war so that they would never be tempted to shed blood again, even if they already didn´t want to do it. Without even helping him to apply the story to himself, he asked his wife to get the remainder of the cigarettes (3) that he had and he gave them to us. He understood that those were the weapons of rebellion that he had to burry. It was so cool! I have never seen anyone so excited for their baptism. His was truly a miracle, golden conversion for a missionary. He kept all the committments and recieved a testimony of all that we taught him. His baptismla service was so great too. His two sons came (the third came late and never actually entered the chapel because everyone was already leaving...) and it was such a great experience. Unfortunately, there must have been some kind of lack of communication because a lot of the people that had assignments to speak or pray or whatever, didn´t come. So with a little improvisement, we got Elder Dowdle to give a talk and some of the other members that came gave prayers. The other member assigned to give a talk fortunately came prepared to talk about baptism. They were super good. Especially Elder Dowdle´s talk. He is SUCH a good missionary. His talk was just filled with the Spirit and everyone there felt it. He was after all talking about the Holy Ghost haha. So Daniel and his family are members. But the other son of Victor, Damian, is not a member,. He came with his girlfriend Mariana. After the ordinance was performed by Elder Moscoso (I confirmed) we watched the story of John Tanner because the conversion of Victor was such a semejanza to the story of John Tanner. I know this doesn´t necesarrily mean that the spirit is present... But EVERYONE was crying! Mariana and Damian are new investigators now and we have an appointment to teach them this week. I am STOKED. So.... Thats what happened with Victor. There is more to the story, but I can just say that faith, prayer, and fasting really does work miracles. I don´t really know what else to say. It was a very exciting week. It was also the first time that I have been present at one of my convert´s baptisms since November haha... We have this amazing ability to find people that get super excited about baptism and get baptized, just the weekend after I leave the area haha. Thats the important part though so no worries. Well... I have a lot more I guess I wanted to say, but I really just want to tell you that the Book of Mormon is the most powerful instrument that we have in this great work besides the Spirit. Read it. Ponder it´s messages. Pray about it. LOVE IT! lOVE you guys. Elder Daybell Oh yea. I think today to celebrate my birthday I am going to go crazy and buy an expensive cereal haha. Love it. Thank you guys. Also, the Pope being Argentine has so far not changed anything here. As far as I know. Except for the tshirts and posters you can buy now.
March 11, 2013 Hey mom. ALASKA! no I didn´t scroll all the way down. Good things come to those who wait. But that is wayyyyy LOCO! I know 4 alaskans. Matt Caison´s wife Athena, Elder Summers, and his girlfriend who´s mom is Argentina (thats how I met them... I think I already told this story...) and his girlfriend´s sister. And thats it. But when I was at BYU, I watched a lot of discovery channel axmen and deepest catch or something like that. That is about all I know about Alaska, and definitely the extent of my experience. But that is wonderful! I cannot wait to come and visit in ALASKA! also, where exactly, and when does he go? Birthday... sweet. I will probably just save the money on my card and buy somethin cool my last pday. That sounds like some exciting weather in NYC. I have been really hankerin for some cold. It totally juked me out. Its hot here again and I am currently sweating a good bit. That is SO cool about our ward doing stuff with family history. I love it now and I can´t wait to go to the temple because we actually have names in pretty recent history who don´t have their work done! I am excited because I totally thought someone else would have done it back to before the flood but no. Lets see. Viktor is doing well. He is still really excited about the baptism this weekend and so are we. We did service with him (or better said, my comp and the other elder Daybell did service for him because I was with elder Huaman in San Martin on comp exchanges) and he was pretty stoked for it. I have been reading the Book of Mormon a lot lately and its been really interesting to see how much the prophets and missionaries of ancient times tried to help people understand their divine nature. I think its because like Joseph Smith said, its pretty much impossible to exercise faith in someone you don´t know or don´t understand. Can you imagine how we would be different as people if we all understood the plan of happiness that the Lord prepared for us? Knowing that God exists is something that is necessary in order to have faith in Him. But it isn´t everything. You need to know what kind of a God He is, and what is His nature exactly. The scriptures tell us these things because of the many dealings that the Lord has had with His prophets. Okay, so we know that He is, and we pretty much know or understand who He is. The next thing we need to be able to have an abiding faith is an assurance that the life we are living is pleasing unto God. I know that God is our Heavenly Father. We are His Children and He knows who I am and what my fears desires, hopes and dreams are. He knows who I was, who I am, and who I can be. It is the same for everyone of His children. A whole new world is opened up to us when we understand really who we are. I invite any and all of you to think about who you are really and what that means for you. If you do it, you will be led to the truth I promise. Anyways, I am doing good. Very good. Keep prayin for us porfa. Love ya a ton Elder Daybell
March 4, 2013 Hey Family! I have decided that pictures are a huge waste of time here, so I will no longer be sending them. Unless its a super cool picture that is absolutely necessary. Its SO time consuming here! SO just keep your horses held until I get home to have one of those super exciting missionary slide shows haha. okay... Well this week is going well. Or went well I guess. Viktor is a super investigator. We planned to teach him the day of rest and how we need to go to church, because he didn´t go last week. So when we went to his place to teach him, we focused on the atonement, and that kind of led into the sabbath day, but he is the one that started that part of the lesson. He told us that he felt like it was all a little too good to be true and that certainly there had to be something he had to do in order to get baptized... like go to church? And we jumped on that. So we taught him that, and he committed to go to church. This Sunday when we went to go look for him, he was ready with his wife (member, less active). As we got into the car of the hermano who drove us, Viktor´s sister pulls up! NOOOO ! I was just instantly deflated.. I was popped. Family is everything here in Argentina, and just the week before our companions (Elder Dowdle and Tingey) were going to bring a whole family to church and then the guy´s brother out of nowhere came and it was immediately staying at home over telling them they were going to go to church. So I was a little worried. But Viktor is determined to get baptized the 16th of March. So he greeted them (it had been a couple months since they had seen each other) and then told them to come back a different day because he was going to church. Whaaaaaaaatttttt!!! We were so shocked and grateful haha. Anyways, he came, and it was a pretty great testimony meeting because there is a family in the rama that just got reactivated and they are going to the temple to be sealed in a couple weeks. Spirit was strong! The Best thing about Viktor getting baptized besides the actual baptism, is that his has tons of inactive kids with their families and a lot of them came on Sunday. We are really experiencing a miracle here in Shivadavia (Its actually Rivadavia, but most people say SH for their Rs, even though they should be trilled... way fun) Hmm besides that... we had a great week of capacitation. Or training.. We had consejo for the zone leaders, and then we had zone conference and so we had actually pretty limited time to proselyte this week. Fortunately we were able to make every moment count and met with the people we needed to. We also had a baptism in our Rama on saturday and that was great. Our zone is going to be baptizing every weekend this month, with the exception of the 23rd and 24th becuase thats stake conference and we aren´t allowed too. I love seeing the miracles that take place so that we can achieve our high goals as long as we do our part. Want to see the Lord´s hand in your life? Think of some things you want done in your life that are righteous desires and make it a goal. Do all you can to make sure it happens and then just wait for the Lord´s help. Its really amazing. Anyway I am doing way good. I heard that there are some new scriptures coming out in English... Those would be a great Birthday and christmas and Birthday of 2014 present because I have given my english scriptures that I bought in the MTC to my comp... He is going to learn english now..... Just an idea.... But if you want to know, I would prefer any color besides black or dark purple, and without indexes (1 triple and the bible, not quad) (the same size as mom´s) Okay I love you guys a ton. I am sure that I am forgetting something as I always do... But It must not be very important. Love, Blessings Elder DAYBELL
February 25, 2013 Hey Family! I am writing you hoping that all the pictures I want to send will load eventually… This week was pretty decent. Elder Moscoso is SUPER cool! I have loved working with him because I imagine it would be kind of like being comps with one of my older brothers just because he is kinda like me, and we like a lot of the same things, he´s just older haha. The oldest one in the mission as far as I know. We really did have a pretty great week though. These last emails (like since November) are going to be really important for me to keep because it has been costing me muchísimo to keep up in my journal… I am working on it though. So that being said, let me revise my agenda real quick and see what some of the highlights are… We found a new neighborhood that we had never heard of or seen before. We went there, opened the mouth with one lady and that led to a chain of references that were really great. 2 of the 3 references that we contacted there were AWESOME! One of the other people we talked to is named Beatriz, and she was just doing her laundry outside and we stopped to talk to her. We taught her a Little bit about the plan of Salvation upon finding out that she is the mother of 8 (really actually pretty common to see HUGE families here) and she accepted a baptismal date… The other cool family that we met is called the Pringles family. There must have been some hidden, LDS Homefront camera crew somewhere nearby filming us because of how perfectly everything went haha. We clapped, and then the whole family (mom, dad, three kids, neighbor kid, and two dogs) came to the gate and we told them who we were, what we do etc., and told them we would like to come in to teach them the Gospel (that is by far the most successful approach here… So simple…”We are here to teach you the Gospel… Can we come in?” I love it haha). So we talk, and find out that they were recently baptized in a different church but didn´t feel any different and were waiting for something to change or something like that. So we talked to them about that, and some other things and the parents accepted the challenge to be baptized and they are going to come to church next week. That same day we met a señora that has more than 50…yes, 50 dogs. That was a very loud lesson. One Thursday, we opened the mouth with an elderly gentleman sitting on his front steps. We sat down and talked pretty much about the church and the Gospel and family and everything like that for about 10 minutes and then he started a long chain of stories that were SO interesting! He is almost 90 and still lives with his wife, but I swear! If you shaved his stache, he is the long lost (spaniard) twin of Grandpa Dick. I will probably go back to him to get a picture haha. Ahhh, okay Last one for this week that I will write about… Viktor is the husband of a convert of about 6 years and in the past two months has started to come in and listen to the missionaries. We have started to teach him more directly though, as he seems to recieve it really positively. Well I went on companion exchanges with Elder Tingey, the new district leader in our Zone (I have mentioned that the other Elder Daybell is the other DL in our zone right?) and he totally surprised me. We were teaching the Restoration to Viktor (not miembro) and his wife and we came to the end where the two logical steps would be either, end with a prayer, or challenged Viktor to be baptized. So, as I finished teaching the last principle, I was kind of unsure what we would do… But Elder Tingey, fearlessly and without any hesitation said to Viktor, “Asi que hermano Viktor a medida que el Señor conteste sus oraciones y usted sienta que este mensaje es verdadero, ¿usted seguirá el ejemplo de Jesucristo y será bautizado por alguien que tiene la autoridad de Dios?” Silence…. “¡Si!” He placed the date with him and we challenged him to pray about it. So the next lesson (about two or three days later) we are very blessed because his brother in law is there too, and they all listen to us and after watching the Restoration video, we talked about how we too can recieve answers to our questions that we have. Viktor blurted out with the same perfect timing and gusto as Elder Tingey, “Yo oré y ahora se que me voy a bautizar el 16 de Marzo.” WOOOOO!!!!!!! We were both SO excited! It was really awesome to have someone straight up tell us that. So that is one of the miracles of the week. Lets see. Well I just hope you guys know that God lives and He loves us. He is just like me and you in the sense that he has arms, a head, legs, a body—everything. If he was here and we could behold Him, it would be like an encounter with any other being. So many times we think of God as some very important VIP sitting in His office on the 140th floor, too busy to think of us individually, after all, He is the one keeping the stars in their orbit, keeping the earth spinning and making sure that all of the living creatures everywhere recieve their sustenance. A man who knows how many hairs you have on your head (or how many you lack) certainly doesn´t have any time to listen to us right? But our Father in heaven is not only a father who supplies for our phyisical needs, and has no time to spend with us or to console us or to meet our emotional and spiritual needs. He is ALL powerful. He knows ALL. He loves YOU as much as He does ME and knows exactly what YOU need, want, think, hope for, desire etc., as much as what I want, need, think, etc. He is the only one that knows us and our hearts and he knows what happens in our lives. And every single moment, this Man is waiting for a call from you. His every action and Word goes towards us being blessed in some way, and He wants to hear from you and from me. So lets take up His Only Begotten Son´s invitation, and ask, seek and knock. I love you guys a ton and I hope you are doing wonderfully. I am! Elder DAYBELL
February 18, 2013 Man I had a pretty good week. I am exhausted, but it was really good. I got a couple hours less sleep because on wednesday, we had to wake up at like 4:00 am to get Elder Toledo to the terminal in Mendoza so he could go to Alvear, which is really far away. So I hung out with Elder Dowdle there in the terminal for a few hours until our companions came. My comp Elder Moscoso is a new zone leader and so I will be training him kind of how to do that, except for he has 6 weeks more than me in the mission, and he is 27 haha. Super old, but its been really great so far because he has a lot of life experience and knows how to talk to people. We have been guided a lot this week. Like we were given a referral, and we went to go contact it, but the dirrection was bad. We were looking for block H, and we were on block D, but the description of the house on block D matched what the member told us to look for. So we knock, find out its not the right person but we end up teaching them anyways and it turns out to be a really cool 20 year old man. Then after that, we ask him if he knows the people we were looking for before and he told us to go across the street because José knows everyone in the neighborhood. So the next day we go to talk to José but he isn´t home. We talk to his son, Jonathan instead and as we start to teach him he interupts and says, you guys probably came to talk to my dad because my mom killed herself a couple months ago, and he has a ton of questions and is in a pretty bad state. So we are going back today to help him out. We just felt really guided this week and I had one of the best experiences of my mission. We were teaching this woman who only let us in because she LOVES her 5 year old son nick-named "baby" (like in english). He came up and asked me why I was so big one day and why my comp was so shrimp-like. We kind of joked with him a little bit but he followed us all over the neighborhood giving us referrals haha. But we went to his house to finish and met one of his sisters and his mom (Marisa). She couldn´t be with us right then, so we came back another day and she was waiting for us. We taught her the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Lately I have been making a lot bigger deal about the first principle of that lesson that God is our loving Heavenly Father. When I taught her about that, she looked at me kind of shocked and said, I never thought of Him like that. I asked her how that made her feel, and she paused and looked down and then back at us and said, "very fortunate" I think that was one of the most spiritual parts of my mission because when people suddenly come to know exactly who is their Father in Heaven, they can start to actually believe in Him, and the power that comes into their lives gives them strength to live in a way that is harmonious to the Gospel, in a way that will lead them back to the presence of the Lord. You´re right- Faith is a gift that we recieve only by asking, seeking, and knocking. Be happy, healthy, safe and full of faith. Elder DAYBELL
February 11, 2013 Hello, I am Elder Daybell This week was wonderful. In the book of Alma, there is a story that I really enjoy and see it played out still today. One of them has to do with the effects of pride. The people of Alma were beginning to lift up their heads in pride because of their circumstances. This was a direct result of them losing the faith they once had. The people stopped doing their family home evenings, family prayers, personal scripture study and family scripture study. They stopped paying full tithes, and started filling their lives with all manner of fine things that distracted them from doing what they were supposed to have been doing. Pretty soon they started to forget all that God had given them, and started to worship themselves. Every time they saw a result of their labor, they thought, "wow, look at what I have done! How great am I!!" whereas before, they thought, "Thank God for these blessings, look at what HE has done for me. How great is HE! etc.." As a result of this pride, the people began to do bad things that hindered and even stopped the progress of the church, because all who were observing them saw that they honored God, maybe with their lips, but their hearts were far from them. Basically, the investigators were convinced that the truth was not available in the church of the the people of Alma. Can you imagine the letters home and journal entries of those missionaries? Every time that they stopped to open their mouth and share the Gospel, the best refuting, cutting comeback a non-member could throw was basically the mention of any of those members. Once the Lord saw that they were ripe for a reminder of exactly whose hands they were in, an opposing army comes and threatens to destroy everyone. Alma, seeing that the people weren´t going to change, left the judgement seat, and assigned another to take his place so that he could go amongst his people with great power and authority and preach unto them those things that would awaken in them the memory of all their duties as covenant-making members of the church of Christ. I like how it says the behavior of these brethren was afflicting to Alma, but how it did not matter really because he was full of the Spirit, or the Comforter. Basically I just wanted to explain what we did this week. We have seen in our zone that there is quite a bit of pride, and a general lack of miracles and faith. That is mission wide, and is something we are trying to focus on as leaders in the mission. On Thursday and Friday, Elder Toledo and I went to 3 different companionships in our zone and had special interviews with them. In effect, we left the judgment seat and went in order to despertar en ellos la memoria de sus deberes. It was great and we had the Spirit with us as we tried to help some elders figure out what their problems were and how to fix them. I love the missionaries I serve. I know my companion does too, and thus it was relatively easy to say what needed to be said. We felt the Spirit confirming to us that we had done good after each particular interview and so I was happy. There is a lot at risk when missionaries lose faith or are discouraged. We saw that there is an army awaiting us every single day out in the streets and we felt that we were unprepared to meet it as a zone because we have been collectively not as diligent as we should have been. Thanks to the help and direction we recieved, we feel that now the elders are more prepared to take on all that the enemy throws at us. We are excited to see some miracles happen because we are just going to go out and make them happen. I will tell you about some next week. Also, another transfer has just flown by. Elder Toledo is going to Alvear, which is about 5-6 hours from Mendoza City. I am getting a new companion, and a new zone leader, Elder Moscoso from Peru. He is a very cool guy and super humble and we have always gotten a long great since we were in the same district in Godoy Cruz more than a year ago. Elder Kelley is traveling to Mendoza and then the US on Wednesday, so Elder Dowdle is once again my companion for a few days haha. well.... I don´t think I have anything else to say. I love you guys, Have a super great week. Elder DAYBELL pS pics didn´t load. Sorrrrrr
February 4, 2013 Hey family, friends, aquantences This week has been one to talk about in the ol´ journal. We have had a lot of training given by President Avila, his wife, and some of the assistants. As a mission we baptized 35 people this month... Which honestly is very much so under our potential, and thats pretty much all we talked about at the zone leader consejo. President talked to us about something pretty basic but completely necessary and the presence of this word in missionary work means either success or failure---Faith. I suppose there is a general lack of faith among missionaries as well as members here in Cuyo. It´s somewhat discouraging knowing that any missionary leaves his apartment in the morning, only kind of hoping to see if he can accomplish what he has set out to do. I have learned a lot about faith in the mission. I remember that Elder Aidukatis (I butchered that spelling) said in a mission conference when I had about 3 months in the mission that we are the dueños of our own destiny. Or in other words, that we are in charge of what happens. A missionary needs to know that when they sit down to plan out their week, the goals that they set are expressions of the desires of their heart. We set goals to make them. Many missionaries I think set a goal to succesfully challenge 10 people to baptism a week, and then go through out the whole week, not using that goal to help guide their work. When Sunday night comes and they realize that they don´t have any new baptismal dates, they are concerned about WHY they didn´t reach their goal. Apparently they were waiting the whole week for 10 people to come up to them and tell them that they would like to follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized on the 23rd of February. How many times have you been out in a lake, in your fishing boat, looking for the prize fish when suddenly hundreds of the very best fish start jumping right into your boat? We must exercise our faith by rolling up our sleeves and getting to work, making every second count. Faith without works is dead, and likewise, works without faith are very few. So that is why we baptized 35 people this last month instead of making our goal of 95. Its all I have been thinking about lately. On Wednesday we have a zone meeting which is basically just an opportunity for us to relate all that President told us in our consejo with him to the rest of the mission. I hope it goes well and that we are able to transmit everything in a way that the Spirit will help the elders understand, just like I experienced in the meeting with President. Anyways... I am doing good. Please pray for us that we as a mission can increase in faith and desire and charity. I love you guys. Happy February. Its hot here haha Elder Daybell
January 28, 2013 Hey family! Guess what? I had to come into Mendoza the city today because we had p-day with all the other zone leaders. We played dodgeball for a while (I had SO many power plays...) and then they started playing basketball, and unfortunately, I think Linsey got whatever genes that I would have recieved that makes you love basketball. So I asked permission to go see a few friends in Villa del Parque, seeing as the offices are about 10 minutes away from my old area. Elder Toledo was in the neighboring area and so we went to see some of his friends too. It was great, I will write you more maybe next week but I am really Happy. Just no time this week! I am staying in Guaymallén tonight with my last comp Elder Whittle, and we are going to go see Brenda, who got baptized the first saturday after I left. So excited! And then tomorrow we have our monthly meeting with Presidente Avila. Well I am doing great, and I love you guys. I am happy, Loving the work, and seeing miracles. Like Moroni and Mormon, I believe that we are being ministered by angels daily. The church is true, and better yet, its the best! Love you guys a ton. Suerte con el frio! Besos Elder DAYBELL
January 21, 2013 Hey Familia mia! Well I was going to send a picture, but I guess my patience is not compatible with this dinosaur computer haha. So... sorry. But I have had a WEEK. First story. Last Sunday or Monday, I started to have some really serious chest pain that killed! It was really bad during the day and at night it kept me up, rolling around to find a comfortable spot (No worries I am totally good now). I decided to call the mission nurse, and he told me that it was probably just gas (okay.....) and told me to drink lots of water and eat a better diet. So after two days of no change, I called him again and told him that it definitely was some stubborn gas... He told me to go to the doctor, so we went and waited, and eventually talked to someone. The doctor came in, asked me what was wrong, I told him and then he told me to lay down on the bed. I wait somewhat uncomfortably as he gives me the chest frisk, and then he writes something on his clip board, looks up at me and says, "Che! es muscular!" which translated is "Bro! its muscular!" So he tells me to wait, then follow him to another room where some lady puts that little clip on my finger that measures my pulse or whatever. Then a different lady comes in, tells me to follow her to another room and to wait outside. I wait for a little bit, and then the doors open and a very old lady comes shuffling out and the doctor inside calls for "Will-yuns???" I enter we greet and he tells me I am going to have a shot. I say okay and wait and then he points at my rear end. So I finally understand, and get on the bed and awkwardly unfasten my broken pants. He tells me that I am going to feel a pinch and then he pushes the plunger. And then my left nalga hurt the rest of the day, but the problem never went away. So my companion, later that night says, its probably just gas and that he wants to try something that he always used to do with his dad whenever he had bad gas, so I consent because I have already tried professional medical help and hadn´t seen any results yet. You will all have to wait to see the pictures and video we took, but know that it involved a jar, rubbing alcohol, a lighter and cotton.... moving on. The mission nurse told me that it was just stress when I called him the next day (day 5 for those of you keeping track at home). He went on to assure me that the Lord was proud of me, my family still loved me and that he thought I was a great missionary. He also told me to vision some place nice like the mountains or the beach, and try to calm down. He then hurriedly told me to not include any girls in these day dreams haha. All these things were really nice and kind, but it didn´t have anything to do with my pain, which by this time had lowered to my stomach. So I was pretty stressed this week for like two days because nobody could tell me what was happening. But now I feel totally normal, so I am not worrying about it. I probably ate something bad is all.... Anyway, that is story 1 Story 2. Yesterday we arrive to lunch after church with Rosa. She doesn´t allow us to call her Hermana, or say gracias, amongst other certain rules in her house. Really nice lady and her kids are great too. Anyways she tells us about the fight that two of her dogs got in at the beginning of the week and how one of them hadn´t moved much since. We went outside to go see it and lets just say that this dog LOST the fight. He was lying down panting and not moving at all (probably had something to do with the worms in the hole that the other dog made in his head). It was going to die but at that moment was suffering a lot. Rosa didn´t know what to do and she was really worried about it. My companion kindly said to her, "Rosa why don´t you go inside, close the windows and the curtains and we´ll take care of this." So after volunteering us, she went inside and we took care of it. It was kind of an awkward lunch... Rosa was thankful though and Rex was no longer suffering so it was a win win...win. Story 3 We went to one of the apartments in our zone and surprised them by showing up at 6:30 in the morning because 3 of the 4 missionaries were having trouble getting up on time, so we did exercises with them and then made them breakfast. Story 4 In Mendoza, they have something called the Vendimia, and its to celebrate the grape harvest. But the biggest part about it is the Vendimia queen. Every city elects a queen from within its citizens (usually the most beautiful, tallest, etc). We recieved a reference from a member to her niece and her family who was the Reina (Queen) of Rivadavia in 2012. I had definitley seen her face plastered all over the place last year when I was in Godoy Cruz and so when she answered the door, I was half ready, and half star struck (like i don´t know meeting Jack Nicholson or something). Well we talked for a little bit and her and her boyfriend both listened to us and liked what they heard. They accepted baptismal challenges, and we have an appointment with the whole family on wednesday and I am WAY excited! I feel confident that they will actually make it to baptism Anyway, these are the highlights of this week. We also had interviews today and so PDAY is tomorrow, but President told us to write today so... Well, love ya guys. I am good. I hope you are all doing great too. Elder Daybell
January 14, 2013 Hey Family! This week was really pretty great. We don´t have a 555 program yet in our branch, and so that is my biggest priority. I mean after all, if you didn´t follow Noah back in the days before the flood, you had some pretty big problems. I figure its not different now; If the prophet wants us to use this plan, we will use it and be safer and happier and more successful than by not using it. So that is what we have been up to. The branch President has been out of town since before I got here, and I met him for the first time on Sunday. Seems like a great guy and I am excited to work with him. We have spent most of the week going by all the members that live in our area that my companion doesn´t know ( in other words all the inactive members). It was honestly incredible how many members we met that wanted nothing to do with the church, or how many we had met that like Lot´s wife had turn back around. They were currently (not even practicing) catholics, evangelicals, and even athiest... We had like three days just like that and its been hot and we hadn´t gotten in to even one of the inactive member´s houses. The only benefit to it was that we were able to recieve a lot of referrals for other families. And then we hit gold one day. We had decided to look at all the old investigators in our area book and made a list of all the ones we felt like we should pass by. But first we had to finish up our list of less active members, so we went back in to what felt like Ammonihah and knocked some more doors. To our great relief and gratitude, we found some great members that had fallen away, but wanted to come back with thier friends and family. That is exactly 555! We were way happy and felt like God had directed us to these particular houses just so we could have a good day haha. So now we have plenty of work and we are excited about that. Another cool story... Yesterday we went to the house of a member who is extremely inactive but was a missionary and served honorably and was once married and got divorced and then came back to Rivadavia (where he served the mission 13 years ago) and is now living with one of his former investigators and they have a few children. Well he came to church LAST week, and we made friends and got him excited to bring his family with him yesterday, and they all came! They loved church and since the woman was already an investigator a long time ago, and had a pretty extensive knowledge of things, we talked a little bit and they have a goal of a temple marriage. So obviously her and one of her children (the oldest, with 8 years) are absolutely stoked to get baptized. This would probably happen in february or later because there are some other trials to take care of with the government and so on... But we are really excited for them. Its been great to meet some of the lost sheep who are coming back to the fold. I am happy for the members that have been faithful for years, but I am more happy about seeing some former diners at the Lord´s table come back. Anyway, I am doing good. Hot! so HOT! I smell like a wet dog all the time now because all my shirts were washed by a Sister in my last ward and she has several big dogs that get into everything, so naturally all my shirts have a little scent of dog. But then I walk outside in the 90, 100-ish degree heat and I start to sweat a ton and then it starts to stink! Its been a challenging week with my clothing hahaha. Okay love you guys. Taker easy eh? Elder Daybell
December 31, 2012 Hey Family! This week was way interesting huh??? It was nice seeing you all except for the Broadbents and Hope, but I think that was all that wasn´t there right? Yea... Unless I have any surprise brothers-in-law or nephews or neices. Anyways, the pictures.... We had a Mission Christmas party last last week, and then we had dinner with the Stake President of Guaymallén, in complete darkness and in the middle of a super strong wind storm. Afterwards, there were hundreds of fallen trees all over the road. Its actually starting to look a little stormy outside right now too.... We will see if our 11 lb BBQ turns out or not. I hope so because that is a lot of meat to let go to waste.... But anyways that is what we are doing to ring in the año nuevo. 2013!!!! So crazy! Oh guess what! I am getting transferred.. How weird no? I have been in 3 areas in the last year, and only for about 6 weeks in Guaymallén. But I am headed to San Martin, Rivadavia. The zone is San Martin. I have only been by the terminal there one time...I don´t really know much about it except that I am headed to the same zone, and maybe the same apartment as my hijito Elder Dowdle! So exciting. I am going to be companions with Elder Toledo. I met him because when I left Godoy Cruz 5 transfers ago, he came in to be Elder Larisch´s companion. I am pretty sure he doesn´t know english, so I am excited to get better at spanish. I am excited for everything about it though.. It seems so fitting that I start the new year off with a new area and new companion. I am glad that I am not killing anyone either because that would have been hard to be in the same apartment with two elders that are going home, even if they are really good guys. There is just an atmosphere of after mission conversation and plans and cualquier cosa... But que va a hacer.... Anyway, I am really excited for that. I leave here on Thursday. I don´t really know what my purpose was here because I was here for so short a time period. I didn´t baptize anyone (two are going to be baptized in the next week or so....Brenda and Nikol....) and I can´t really tell why I was here... Maybe it was to help get the 555 plan started because they didn´t have one when I got here... I don´t know. Its just way wierd to be in one area for 6 weeks instead of 6 months. Anyways, We are starting a new year. The covenant people of Israel had something called a Jubilee year, and in this year everyone was forgiven of debts, amongst other things. Let have a jubilee year shall we? This year, lets pledge to forgive all the people who may have wronged us. Let us seek reconcilation with our families, friends, co-workers, and schoolmates. Let us search out the peace that our Savior gives us. Let us "forgive" our Heavenly Father if that is what we need to do to become closer to Him. Let us seek forgiveness from Him as well. Let us forgive ourselves for our weaknesses, and not hold on to the terrible feelings of guilt or shame that we have experienced as a result of past failures and giving-ins. I know that as we do this, we can face a bright future with hope and faith and have a more positive outlook on life. I had to give a talk in church on Sunday about leaving behind adversity. I felt like it was an inspired theme, seeing as how many people continue to choose to be offended at the actions or words of others. I felt that I learned a lot in return and now have made some goals and some plans on how to better deal with adversity, and how to make my relationships more meaningful in every way with family, friends, and especially the Lord. As we enter this Jubilee year, lets remember the wonderful supports we have in each other, and in our Older Brother, Jesus Christ, who makes us more that conquerors. I love you guys and hope you have a great week. Elder Daybell
December 24, 2012 Hey Family! Guess what! Its Christmas time. Merry Christmas! I got your package and it was SWEET! I was a little worried to see it was full of "religious literature" as we have just started something called the Armas de Rebelion (which is related to when the Lamanites burried their weapons so that they could not be tempted to return to their ways) and I put everything I had in the mission box that wasn´t part of the missionary library. But when I opened it and found what was left of a little pamphlet, I was relieved. The Dr. Scholl´s powder definitely helped in the process. Oh my heck the STUFFING was the best thing EVER! I have eaten two of the five boxes so far...Cornbread is gone, and half of the cranberries (because of the stuffing of stuffing). I also have like 6 chap sticks now too, because I don´t really use it that much. I should, but I just don´t. Maybe having chapped lips will help discourage all of the females who feel tempted to plant one on me (that really happened to one of my comps....). Also, everything else was perfect. I really appreciate it, thank you so much! The letters were great too. Well I am going to talk to you guys tomorrow. I don´t wanna use all my creative thought here trying to hammer something out in understandable english, so I will cortarla aqui. Love ya english tonne. Elder Daybell
December 17. 2012 Hey Family! I heard about the shootings there, and I was really shocked. I feel like in the past little while there has been just a lot of big trials in the States. I am glad that it was not as bad as it could have been though, Soph told me about some of the heroic teachers and supervisors who did what they could to save as many as they could. I am doing great. We had a rough week.... but we got a lot of stuff figured out with our Bishop and now we feel more ready to take on this week and next, and next etc... We are going to have the Christmas party this week and I am excited about that. Its always fun, and we will probably play a huge American football game with all of the other gringos that are kind of tired of playing soccer haha. Also, the food is really good. No packages or anything yet, but tomorrow is the day they go to the mail place so maybe then. Don´t you worry though, it´ll come :) Well.... I am doing super great. I am glad that so many of you are getting together for the fiestas. I also am excited to talk to you all next week. Therefore, I am writing a short letter! haha. Love you guys. Thanks for your oraciónes y pensamientos. Yo quisiera que supieseis que yo os amo a cada uno de vosotros. Talk to ya later! Anciano Daybell
December 10, 2012 Happy dia de la Virgen! It was the 8th, and really made working difficult because the buses barely ran and we had to wait a couple of hours just to get to and from our area.... My idea of a holiday :) Lets see.... Well some of the pictures. I love jello! It is cost effective, very healthy (the sugar and fat free one of course) and its so tasty! Definitely a summer food though. Although this one was mostly liquid because I put too much water in it.... Elder Gutierrez was peeking out the window of our apartment... Probably looking at one of the 2 huge crashes (no big injuries outside of post-accident, police-showing-up-influenced neck pain) that happened in front this week. Side note, this morning, we all heard about 5 seconds of screeching brakes, and we all got up and started to run to the window, and when we didn´t hear a bang, we kind of groaned with disappointment and walked back to our seats.... I later realized we probably should have been grateful that no one was hurt, and not disappointed. This is the Christmas tree we have. A recent convert we are trying to activate gave it to us. We have tons of really great ornaments. ¿O no? Anyways, this week was pretty good. Something we have been learning from president in different meetings is how we can help people become converted to the Gospel. Elder Resék came to counsel us instead of Elder Arnold, so that was great. He is a good teacher because he has worked for CES down here forever. He is the coordinator for a pretty big chunk of Argentina. Besides that, I have been studying a lot this week about the Spirit. It is so amazing! We always talk about how much the Father loves us, and His Son, but maybe sometimes we discount the amazing and godly love that even the Spirit has for us. He is after all a personage of Spirit, who must be like the Father. and therefore wants us to be successful also. I always used to think of the Spirit as that one Greek god from mythology, I think his name is Hermes, who is just a messenger. I thought he just transmitted what needed to be said, and then he leaves and goes elsewhere. But I have learned by many experience here in the mission to recognize Him, and have learned in the scriptures exactly who He is. Every member in the Godhead loves us more than we know. They equally want our success and that is the driving force behind all that They do. Helping people to understand how to recognize the Spirit by telling them what to expect is kind of like trying to describe what salt tastes like....Salty....... what else can you say? So we have been working on making a spiritual atmosphere in lessons, and then when we feel it, we pause the lesson, and ask the investigator, "what do you feel right now?" We then tell them that it is the Spirit. After enough of that, they soon learn to recognize the Spirit and have their testimonies built and fortified. I have seen a lot more success in helping people recognize the Spirit, than in telling them what they should expect, in feelings or words or dreams or whatever. Anyway, I am doing rill rill good. My comp hit 22 months and so we are trying to hang in there :) Thanks for your prayers! ummm.... well, see ya on Christmas! Love ya Elder Daybell
December 3, 2012 Hey Family! This week was really interesting. I have never had so many meetings to go to in one week! We had a really long one with President on Tuesday, and then we had one with the whole zone on Friday and it just felt like we had a million things to do besides work in our area. I hate when that happens, but you just have to realize that every part of what we do that helps people do the work better, or helps us to be better is part of the requirement of a missionary. Patience... We did have a great week though. We have been focus a lot on using the Book of Mormon better as a mission because something that President said was that we need to stop using it like any other pamphlet that we give out. So what we have started to do is try to help people develop a relationship with it. Instead of leaving them arbitrary parts of the book to read, we help them read it from the very beginning to the end. I am really grateful for the counsel we received from President because we have seen the results. One of our investigators, Brenda, has been progressing for a couple weeks, but was kind of doubtful about the Book of Mormon, and only saw it as just another bible. Really the two are important for separate reasons. So we have her reading each chapter from the beginning, and its been going really great. She has found answers to questions that she has always had, and its been amazing to see her get so excited about receiving revelation from God. Missionary work is so much more gratifying when you help others to have enough spiritual experiences to be able to recognize the Spirit in their own lives. I love that! We had our share of miracles and trials this week, but the important thing is that we are progressing, like our investigators. I finished the book, Jesus the Christ this morning at about 4:30 AM (Its so hot here in the night that I woke up, and hoping to be put back to sleep by reading the book, ended up finishing it...). It really is a great book and the inspired author Elder Talmage has such an interesting and wonderful way of explaining the life of the Author of our salvation. It has helped me this past couple of months to understand the doctrine of Christ and exactly what I can look forward to if I am faithful. I love it! We did service this last Saturday that was WAY hard! We went to a member´s house to help them dig about a 7 ft deep, 5 ft wide, and 9 ft long pit. They wanted it because of the counsel they received from their church leaders to store water, so it was great. They are eventually going to put in two huge water tanks to have a nice big store. But it was SO hard! I was totally dying. We worked from about 9:30 to 2:00 in the afternoon. We only had those short shovels, a pick, and a hoe. I did have a cool experience though. By the time we were finishing up, like 1:30, I was in the pit by myself because the Hermano left to go get something, and then Elder Whittle had to use the bathroom, so I was solo. I stopped, rested on the shovel, with all the heat the sun could throw at me. I thought about how dead I was, how much we lacked (like a foot in depth) and how thirsty I was. Then D&C 84:80 came to my mind, and I remembered that my attitude was keeping me from receiving that blessing. So I decided to receive it, and all of a sudden, I had energy to finish, I wasn´t thirsty, and I felt invigorated. Goes to show you that sometimes we just need to realize all the blessings that the Lord has already bestowed upon us. Besides those little things, I have had a pretty good week. I am excited for this next week because Elder Resék, an area 70 is coming on Wednesday to talk to our mission. I am doing great. I hope you are all good too. Love ya a ton! Elder Daybell
November 26, 2012 Hey Family! Happy Birthday Nan'sauce! Goin' on 34! Well your birthday was also our PDAY! so in honor of you, we played some futbol, and ate at some fast food place ($$$). Okay, Lourdes gave me some socks when I left Rodeo del Medio last week, and I played in them and I got a super HUGE blister on my foot! What the what? Good thing we have p-day today, and a day full of meetings tomorrow, so I won´t have to walk a ton on it till Wednesday. Well lots of things have acontecered in the past week. Monday, I had to finish buying some stuff for the Rodeo dpt. and on the way back from a store in the night time, a random old man who was watering his dirt responded to my mostly normal greeting of "hola" with "espionaje! Espionaje!!! No hay nada de Jesus en tu religion!" So that was good. We kind of laughed, and then I whispered into my sleeve some gibberish and we kept going. Tuesday, I went to go say goodbye to a few members and a few investigators and converts. I have about a million pictures of dirt, hands, and different peoples bottoms because Bruno, the 10 year old Padilla child got my camera and wouln´t give it back. It was great though, and not sad to say goodbye to anyone because we always took a big group picture... well, 2, one serious one, and one goofy one, which most people here are not used to. I had an amazing experience with the Gutierrez family. When I told Lourdes I was leaving, she started crying and bore her testimony to us and it was really powerful. Before we left, she asked if we would give her and her daughter a health blessing. She told us how heart-wrenching it has been for her as a mother to see her daughter go through her life as a different person. She has some sort of issue, and no one really knows what it is, but if you met her, you would realize it. Well Lourdes told us that she knew she would be cured if we gave her a blessing. We obviously agreed to do it and Elder Larsen anointed and I acted as voice in the sealings. The Spirit was strong, and I felt guided in what I was saying and according to our faith, they both will be healed. It was definitely a unique experience and I am really glad that I could participate. On Wednesday, I moved about 10 minutes away to Santa Ana and its been great since then. Elder Whittle is a great Elder, and I am pretty sure I am going to kill him (that means I will be his last comp). Anyways, the ward is great, we have a ton of investigators and I am really excited to work here for a couple months. Thanksgiving was great. Elder Bjerke (like beer-key) who has about 8 months and is the youngest in our dpt. pointed out on Thursday morning that it was indeed Thanksgiving. I looked into my healthy spinach-banana-apple-oatmeal-and-flaxseed shake, smiled and finished it very contently. Hope you all had a good week. I am doing GREAT. Sweating a fullll, but besides that, really good. Mom, I need some Lotrimin cream I think. That is all I can think of. My garments are getting pretty missionaried, but I think they will make it. Love you guys a tonne. Elder Daybell
Dear Willder Daybell, (Letter from Will's brother Jeff) November 20, 2012 I am so glad you are on a mission. I feel like I am receiving blessings for your hard work-so thank you jajaja (pronounced cha-cha-cha) It is exciting and sad to think this time next year you will be back at school, doing PT, studying, dating and all the other stuff that goes along with being a "normal" 21 year old. With that in mind, keep your eye on the prize. Returning "with honor" will have significance to you and will set you up to want to "return with honor" from everything that you do in your life. You will crave good grades and study for them, you will want to be the best in ROTC and will accomplish it, you will want to have a successful marriage-so you will pick the female God intends for you to be with, not just to satisfy lust or desire. I am excited to read your emails every week and monitor your progress, it sounds like you are thoroughly engaging the adversary and it appears that your battle space is getting stronger. I think about what I could have done differently as a missionary to be more successful and one thing continuously comes to mind...I should have waited and gone with you-that would be awesome! Imagine proselyting..."Buenos Dias, Soy Elder Daybell y el es mi companero, Elder Daybell." Well I thought I'd share a quick way that might be a fun way to turn your planning session into a full on assault in your area. (you know I LOVE the military and the church...so if you put them together and they have a baby-this is what happens) So take the 5 paragraph OPORD and tweak it to wage a spiritual war instead of a physical war-and yes I believe the great War heroes/Prophets of the Book of Mormon used similar planning when preaching the good word. Situation Terrain and Weather: (Changes according to transfers) How will terrain/weather affect us and our investigators this week? Enemy Forces: Any possible threats to investigators physical or spiritual success this week? What might impede them from completing los dasafios? Friendly Forces: Who can we rely on to help us teach them how to feel/recognize/love the spirit? Attachments/Detachments: What do we need to do to maintain the Spirit with us? Who will be with us at each lesson from the ward? Mission Area X will teach x lessons, contact x people, and commit x people to baptism in the vicinity of (area X) no later than (day you report statistics) in order to further destroy Satan’s grasp on Gods turf. Execution Commanders intent: My intent is for the companionship to develop the spiritual health of those under my stewardship and save more of God’s children from the pains of sin. Concept of the Operation: Phase 1: Personal Preparation and Mission Readiness Phase 2: New Contact Phase 3: Teaching Phase 4: Committing Phase 5: Re-consolidation and Reorganization Scheme of Maneuver Phase 1:Phase 1 will begin with preparation day activities and will be continued everyday with pre-deployment preparation consisting of (whatever your studying plan is) Phase 2: Phase 2 will begin by harassing all individuals within the confines of our assigned battle space and securing teaching commitments with them Phase 3: Phase 3 will begin by planning and preparing for lessons to be taught to new and continuing investigators (get specific) Phase 4: Phase 4 will begin by committing everyone to come to Christ following the spirit and lesson prompts Phase 5: Phase 5 will begin by reviewing each lesson taught and identifying improves and sustains (After Action Review). Sustainment Meals-VERY IMPORTANT Financial Planning-VERY IMPORTANT Medevac Plan-What to do in case of emergency/bathroom issues-you know what I mean Command and Signal Location of Commander: Spirit follows at all times Succession of Command: God-Jesus-Spirit then Mission President Signal-Primary means of communication is via the Holy Ghost, Secondary is via Face to Face, third via phone/email. Anyway, I just finished thinking of this and thought it might be fun for you. I love you very much Elder and I am excited for your future. Focus on what your doing now and let God emplace the post-mission factors for you. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and know we are thinking of you. Love you brother, Jeff
November 22, 2012 He heyyy familiia!! Guess what? Me voy. We got called by the assistants last night at about 10:42 PM (WAY past my bedtime by the way) and they told us the transfers for our zone. I am leaving Rodeo del Medio after 6 months! So where am I headed? Guaymallen! My new zone is called Guaymallen, and my area is called Santa Ana. I am really excited. My new companion is named Elder Whittle, and he was trained by my favorite missionary I have met so far (if you can choose favorites), Elder Reininger. I will probably kill him (meaning I will be the Elder to send him home) because he only has 12 weeks left. I am really excited, and I will be in the same pension as a really cool elder I know, Elder Gutierrez from Texas/Mexico. Besides that, we had a really good stake conference yesterday, and I was really glad to see Hermana Gutierrez there. She is such a blessing! I love seeing the little things change in her life... For example, even though its not at all necessary to wear a skirt to church in order to be able to attend (most people in Rodeo don´t have that kind of luxury) she has started to wear a skirt. She reads the Book of Mormon on her own initiative with her non member son Juan Pablo, and I feel very comfortable leaving her because I know that she is the kind of person that recognizes light and clings to it when she finds it. I look forward to hearing what happens this next transfer, and I will be really only 10 minutes away from my old capilla, so when we finally get the 3 or 4 people we are working with baptized, I might be able to go... We shall see. Anyways, I am doing really good. It has been a great run with Elder Larsen, and I feel like I have learned a lot from him and have grown by being his companion. I am really excited to see how his mission goes. I don´t really know any of the people that leave this transfer, but we lost at least some zone-leaders and one assistant. Elder Tilleman is the new assistant and he probably will be for the next 24 weeks. He goes home one transfer before me. I don´t really know him, but he is a descendant of Ezra Taft Benson so.... you know he´s gotta be a super capo. I am excited and a little nervous for this transfer. Elder Arnold, the area president is coming here in December... Last year when Elder Aduikitis (sp?) came, we got taught really well on how to plan, and so I am excited to see what Elder Arnold does here. Excited because its going to be a great experience to hear him talk, and nervous because he is going to have a 1.5 hour sesh extra with the leaders and so... I am just excited! Anyways, I am doing great. Ready to start a new area, new companion, everything. It has been a good while here in Rodeo, and I will always remember the people there, including members, non-members, and my two companions, Elder Steeves, and Elder Larsen. Great people. Love ya a tonne (UK) Elder Daybell
Hey Family! This week was a good week. We were successful in finding a lot of families and we were very blessed because we were able to get into a lot of new houses. We also did a lot of work in other areas to help and so its been a while since we could do a lot in our area. Besides that it was great. We did two or three really big service projects. One afternoon we planted a LOT of tomatoes and that took about 2 hours. It is the second time we did it, so in the picture that is just of the field, you can see what we did the first time, and all the brown is where we just did. It was way fun though, and now I appreciate it more when I eat vegetables.... It is HARD work! The other service thing we did was for the Gutierrez family. Finally! We have been waiting for this for about 5 months and they just invited us to help them varnish their new house (most people here build their own houses unless they are wealthy). So we went and varnished the wooden roof of a room about the size of our old brown living room in VA, but double. It took a long time, and I was balancing on a couple of old fruit crates to reach the top. I was SO exhausted after, but Elder Larsen and I finished it and after, they gave us an asado (which is like a BBQ, but not quite... NO sauces allowed. Just lemon and salt) which was very good. I feel like we gained a lot of respect from the dad and some of the kids that we haven´t really gotten to know before. The other thing we did was move a bunch of train track ties for a sister in our ward. I don´t know if I should´ve been worried about where she got them, but she said that they make great firewood in the winter..... So if you hear about any huge train wrecks in the coming weeks in MZA, you know why. I am pretty sure this same hermana did the "Fun with Dick and Jane" approach when it comes to gathering common goods... just take a little bit from everyone in the city. Anyways, our baptisms.... ohh them...... I don´t really want to talk about it. But they didn´t happen. And now they won´t happen until next transfer because we can´t baptize anybody this weekend because of stake conference. So I doubt I will be here for 5 transfers... I am pretty sure this area is up and running to a point where they will just baptize a ton of families next transfer and after. Graciela and Matias will have to do it now in a couple weeks. ahhhhhh I am doing good. I think I had more stuff to say, but unfortunately, se me fue che! I hope you all have a good week, and a good day, and a good lunch if that's what you are in to, or whatever. love ya like an Argentine dog loves dirty diapers (a lot) Elder Daybell
Hey Family! November 5, 2012 This week was pretty great. We had a baptism! Emmanuel is the son of a member, but didn´t get baptized at 8 because the mom didn´t think he was ready. Well we taught them some things, and they ended up being really excited for him to get baptized. It was definitely a miracle, because we were going to baptize a family this weekend and it fell through again... so I was happy to at least help Emmanuel come closer to Christ. The picture of the random guy was taken at the baptism too... I made some killer banana bread, and Elder Larsen made something called Biscochuelo, which is just like cake, but not as sweet. They eat it here a lot with the yerba mate. I love this picture though because the hermano, Hno. Camino, is kind of a clown, and second of all because the Bishop´s wife on the bottom right-hand corner is the BEST photo-bomb I have ever seen haha... The one of my foot... Well one of the pairs of shoes I have (the rockports... tell every future missionary to not buy those!!! they break down SO quick!) has pretty large holes in both of the soles, and so after a good day of walking, my feet get pretty brown.... pretty nasty huh? For that reason, I took out 250 pesitos from my personal card to get them fixed (both pairs) and also to finally dry clean the bird poop out of my suit... The good news is thats only like $60USD though haha. Anyway, this week was just way great. Today we are going to have a huge asado and soccer game again, like last month. I really like our district. We are all good friends which is nice. Although, one of the hermanas in my district is a convert of 4 years, and is the only member of her family. I guess her family hasn´t written in a couple weeks and she is trying really hard to not be sad about it. So, thank you for writing me every week. I love you guys! Lourdes is such a BOSS!!!! she is the one that got baptized about a month and a half ago. She is such a strong member of the church and I am so excited to see what happens to her in the future! She also really wants to meet you guys a lot. She was so ready to receive the Gospel. With Graciela this week, we have seen a lot of improvement. Really, She has changed a lot since we met her over 4 months ago, but it is so amazing to leave her with the homework to read something, and then pray about a specific doubt she has. I love it! She has faith, and gets answers to her prayers. Every time we go over, she has less and less doubt, and last week we went, and she said...(finalllly) "Yo me quiero bautizar.... solo me falta eligir una fecha..." Translates to, I want to get baptized. I just have to pick a day to do it! So this coming Saturday.... We shall see. Keep her in your prayers porfa We have stake conference on the 18th of Nov, and I am really excited. I can´t wait to have our recent converts and some new investigators come to it and hear the Good News. I am doing really good. I hope you are too. Everyone was talking about Sandy and telling us that like 30-hundreds of people were killed, so I was a little worried, but not too bad because... I knew you would be fine really. I hope that's the case with everyone, and that you are happy, healthy, and enjoying life. Love ya a tons! Happy election week (right?) Elder Daybell
Hey Family! This week was pretty great. Elder Larsen is pretty smart and so I often ask him questions when they come to me. I don´t care if he actually knows, or if he makes it up but the answers are really interesting. A question that I had this week is, do bees have ears? You see, in my current area, there are about 3 neighborhoods that we work in. In between these 3 places is a lot of nothing. Usually a good 20 minute walk in between all the places, walking through the desert. So muy a menudo random questions come to the head. Its also getting hot here, and so being outside in the siesta is probably starting to affect me a little bit. :) Anyways, I don´t know if you would like to hear a funny story from my ward, but here it goes. One of the counsilors? of the bishopric is a pretty recent convert, and I think he is a pretty interesting guy. He has been asked to say the opening prayer in our priesthood class twice, and the 2 times that he has done it, he gets up in front of the class and says, "Buenos dias hermanos.... I am grateful to be able to say the prayer this morning, Ojalá que sea una clase muy buena, que podamos aprender algo lindo.... en el nombre de Jesucristo, amen." So I have never been prayed to before but... Its always kind of funny to look him in the eye as he prays to the general body of the Priesthood here in Rodeo del Medio. This Saturday, we have a ward activity, followed by a couple of baptisms. We are going to go out and knock doors in a few barrios here in Rodeo. Its great, but we don´t really work like that anymore. The last time we did this, we didn´t find anyone who could progress right now, and so I am interested to see what happens this Saturday. I think its very cool that we have members willing to do that, because I don´t know how that would go over in some places in the states. People are just used to sharing their beliefs here with everyone, whenever they want. Yesterday we did divisions with the Zone leaders and Elder Christensen and I received a referencia for a guy who "knew everything." We went, and knocked, with the intention of sharing the Book of Mormon with him. About halfway through my introduction of the Book, he told me how he had died, went to heaven, and was sent back. He knows everything, and doesn´t need to read anymore scripture because he has ALL of it memorized. Just letting you know, in case you had any questions. His name is Julio :) Well I am doing really well, despite this somewhat critical letter. Sorry! I hope you are doing well. Love ya a ton and a half! ELder Daybell
October 22, 2012 Hey family! This week was pretty good. It was really hard. It was the best of times, and the worst of times haha... We just had a couple of baptisms fall through which is hard because the people had a lot of annoying temporal things to worry about this week and so those got in the way.... We will see what happens this week. I gave blood again on Saturday and that was great. We got blessed with lots of cloud coverage for the rest of the afternoon that day so it was really good because we would probably have died haha. Anyway besides that and the fact that our baptisms fell not much happened this week, but only because everything we did pretty much went around those. We were able to find a lot of good potential families that could progress in these next couple weeks which was good. It has been way hot this week. I had forgotten what its like to be pretty much always in 90-100º weather even at night. But really its been a little chilly in the nights and so its great to sleep without sheets or anything. I am going to have to start changing shirts everyday now haha... ohhh if people only knew how gross it is to be a missionary sometimes. Not me obviously :) I was referring to others. This really really wide screen that I am using right now makes this email look way small... I hope it looks bigger to you guys! I just don´t really have a lot to say about the week. I have been studying in DyC lately and its been way awesome. There are several sections that are addressed to William .....I don´t remember his last name now, but I have enjoyed them because its like they are just to me. I am in section 71 and I want to finish by the 20th of November so I think I can do it. Probably faster than that but we´ll see. I am still working on finishing all the standard works in english and spanish and I still have a lot to do... Anyway I am thankful for you keeping us in your sweet hour of prayer and we see the blessings. Please continue to pray for our investigators, and for opportunities to share the Gospel with your friends and families. You are very important to the obra misional! Love ya Elder Daybell
